Simon Parr

From his studio in Bath, award winning artist Simon Parr makes contemporary paintings in response to his environment. Using bold silhouettes, layered colours and strong lines, he creates images that are both evocative and descriptive of these places.

Originally from Brighton, Simon trained at the Bath Academy of Art & Design. Following a successful career as a commercial artist, published internationally across a range of industries, he is now focused solely on his personal practice. Inspired by his love the countryside beyond the city, his work explores the balance of the natural lines and shapes of the region to produce paintings that, while recognisable, are evocative of the spirit of these landscapes.
